What Is Used PowerGard™?
Used PowerGard™ is a protection plan from John Deere designed to help preserve the performance and reliability of aging equipment. It provides limited engine and powertrain coverage for qualifying:
- Out-of-warranty, customer-owned machines
- Used equipment purchased from a John Deere dealer
This means you’re no longer “out of luck” once your original warranty expires

Out-of-warranty, customer-owned equipment may be eligible if it meets age and hour requirements and passes inspection:

Eligibility Guidelines
- Tractors: Up to 10 years old and up to 5,000 hours
- Other equipment listed above: Up to 7 years old and up to 2,000 hours
All eligible machines must pass a 100+ point inspection and fluid sample testing performed by a John Deere dealer
