Location: Orange, VA
Type of Employment: Full-Time

To profitably lead, direct and manage the use of service department resources (technicians, time, systems, equipment, etc.) at our Orange, VA location.

Principal responsibilities:

Monitor department measures to assure optimal technician efficiency.

Analyze reports, inventories and work in process to achieve cost targets.

Train and cross train technicians to optimize operations.

Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Assist in the dispatching of mechanics

Provide customer quotes on sales, rentals and other agricultural products

Assure customer satisfaction and resolve customer complaints in a courteous professional manner

Provide direction, guidance, and feedback to service department employees

Oversee warranty paperwork for parts and labor

Conduct customer site visits as needed

Additional responsibilities:

Schedule preventive maintenance for company service vans

On call as needed

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Education/Experience/Competencies:

3+ years experience in Service Department operations

Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions

Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups

Familiar with John Deere and competitive products

Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations

Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports

Ability to work extended hours and weekends

Excellent customer service skills

High School Diploma or equivalent experience
